A spinoff of this thread. I thought it was so funny how some foods are considered serious and some fun, so I thought it should have its own thread. So, you have to give the counterpart of the fun one and the serious one, like if it's a drink, main, dessert, etc... There are good ones in that thread, but let's have more Very Happy .

I used to like jello - so I could swish it around my mouth & make it back into liquid

now I think I'd prefer some FUN jello shots Tongue Out

I think messy or colorful dishes are fun, as are finger foods. Think shmorg vs plated dinner.

Fondue is fun to eat and a little different.

Dessert:
- Serious: Scoop of ice cream in a martini glass with a chocolate drizzel and crushed nuts
- Fun: Scoop of ice cream on a flower sugar cookie dressed like a clown with a mini cone as the hat, red hot for the nose and choco chips for the eyes.

Appetizer:
Serious - Pastrami and Sweet Potato Wonton dumplings with a dipping sauce
Fun - Pastrami Hamentashen with a dipping sauce

I love love love those jello cups with the cherry. Can you post the recipe as well as the brand of jello you use. Every brand I have tried thus far has not jelled
Thanks?

I never made them - just found the picture on-line

here's the recipe ... I would probably use less water to kosher jello since it might not be as binding as the real gelatin stuff

maybe I'll make some for purim

I dunno--I take all ice-cream VERY seriously, be it in a Waterford dish drizzled with melted dark chocolate and Sabra liqueur, or precariously perched on the summit of a sugar cone--or even impaled on a wooden stick in a paper wrapper.

I recently made jello for my kids with Bakol all natural gel dessert.
It gelled beautifully in the fridge, probably didn't take longer than half an hour.

I always think that food in packages are "fun." Empanadas, samosas, piroshki, sufganiyot, etc. Bonus fun points if a food is fried and has a dipping sauce.

Greenfire those look delicious. What did you fill them with? Is the dough from flour or masa/masa harina?

I made corn, cheese, and tuna ones this week and you're right it's hard. Well not hard, but tedious.
