Maybe personal accounts from people who suffered because they liked getting sunburns?

Would you get them a bottle of self-tanner?

Just tell them to make sure they can provide themselves with good health insurance for the rest of their lives. What else can you say to teens who won't listen?

I was going to post that same video.

I honestly do not know what else you can do. Both of my sisters have always loved to get tan in the summer. And skin cancer is even in my family. They always wear sunscreen of a high SPF, but they purposefully sit in the sun for long periods of time. It's hard to convince a teenager or young adult to change habits like this. I would say at the very least, you should ensure they are wearing sunscreen of a high SPF. They can still get plenty tan.

If youre still tanning with sunscreen you're kind of defeating the purpose. But yes, it is better than burning.

If they care so much about their looks, talk about it from that angle- if they get too much sun now, they're going to look ugly later. Maybe show them a picture of Tanning Mom: http://msnbcmedia.msn.com/j/MSNBC/Components/Video/120502/tdy_tan_mom_120502.380;380;7;70.jpg

I recently read an article- I think it was in Good Housekeeping- that said teenagers respond to that argument better than warnings about danger. It's the same thing with smoking.
