What to do??? I don't want to restrict him at such a young age and cause eating issues.

so dont. if the doctor is worried then you can follow his instructions but for now just let your little boy eat. try to keep things healthy though

I agree- make healthy food available. Keep track of food groups, too- try to male his diet balanced. So long as he's eating a healthy diet and is active, I wouldn't worry at all.

So what's the problem? Let him eat as much protein, good fat (avocado, olive oil, cheese, nuts) and vegetables as he wants. Throw in some fruit and starch and he has a great balanced diet.

I do try to give only healthy options.
However, there's always a party, an generous aunt, a giving zeidy.....
Im not going to tell these people to not give my child junk food.
Also, is rice cake, pretzels and the like very bad to snack on?
