Playgroup in boro park. not from the area-- please help!

[size=18]Hi. I know that there have been several threads about play groups in boro park, but none seem to be recent, and I would really appreciate any feedback.

I am not from the boro park area, but I am contemplating accepting a job at 40th st bet fort hamilton and 12th ave. accepting the position is dependent upon finding the right play group for my active 16 month old daughter...and I dont even know where to start. is there a central database with the playgroups listed? a particular magazine where they get advertised? does anyone know of any in the vicinity of where my job would be?

also, I dont speak a word of yiddish. and though we are observant, I am concerned that as an outsider from the syrian community, I may have a harder time finding the right place for her. I am concerned that my modern, long wig, and trendy style, may make me stick out like a sore thumb and as a result my daughter would be treated differently. this is not based on any foul treatment in the past or any horror stories.. nor do I mean to generalize and stereotype.. I just do not know the dynamics of the community-- is this something I should be concerned about?

It is important to me that she is stimulated and with children her own age, not just placed in someones basement and supervised. (not that I even know where those basements are)

dont even know where to start.. so please shed some light!

Morah Nechama on 12 and 44 is English speaking, I don't have the phone number. this week there where 4-5 playgroups advertised in the weekly link, they have a website weeklylink.com

just read ure post and as I'm reading mora nechama came to mind. located on 12 & 44. my dd was there 2 yrs. ago and was very happy there. there is a great mix. kids from various backgrounds. also its in boyaner yeshiva building so its all legal and they get real hot lunches. she also is very flexible w the hours and verrry accomodating for working mothers.

Is Morah Nechama the one in Boyan? because when I was looking for a playgroup that came up several times. I asked some therapist friends who worked there with kids they were not happy with what they saw so I would suggest doing some digging.

people, especialy therapists and shadows say that cuz its not considered hotso totso ritsy expensive, those ppl. consider this nebby. BUT imnsho a so called "nebby" place that has devoted staff and care for the child is definitely my choice over those other places that shove the kids around, change diapers only b4 going home - (at times not even then) and make crafts just to impress the mothers. but yeah they believe they're in THE BEST place cuz that's where the jones send to.
if u want real care, devotion and crafts that your child did all by himself mora nechama is the place. btw I tecommended some friends who were skeptical at first and later called to thank me.
