Hi,
I am thinking of purchasing a shevy and wanted to know if you purchased one b4 and if you are happy with it.
I am looking for something very long, wavy or curly...
Thanks!

| The hair on the Shevys are great, good body ,color etc. I did get one fall from them though that kept knotting up all over, I sent it back twice and they did finally fix it without charging. If you're in the blonde or light brown family, they're the best color.

I love mine, but from other posts on shevy this is what I have learned...
Do not buy from the store...go to a reliable sheital Macher.
In my opinion as well as from posts that I have seen, shevy seems to only be worth it if u get the more expensive MB line
Good luck and whichever brand you choose wear it in good health and for simchas!

I've owned only one shaitel since I got married in 2006 and it's a Shevy! I've never really loved the color of my wig since it's a little bit reddish and got a lot lighter over the years. It came with tons of hair so b'h after 6 years it's still very nice and wearable. I dyed it not that long ago.
Would I buy another one? Probably not. Their prices are ridiculous. Mine was $2000 back in the day and now it's prob over $3000 for a similar one. I"d say get a less expensive decent brand that will last you 2 years and then get a new style after that. It definitely gets boring to have the same wig for so long. I think I'd rather have a few cheaper wigs than just one.

I've been really disappointed when I finally found a blond Shevy. Not worth its price. I wouldn't recommend it for real blond. _________________

| the shevy wigs are stunning and great hair. the problem is the customer service. I only sent my shevy to get washed and blown to shevy in boro park. one time they were setting my wig and they ruined the wig. shevy refused to replace it and refused to go to beis din. 2 if my friends had similar experiences. oi will bli ndedr never purchase a shevy again.

My sil got 2 shevy's. One of them had the scalp ruined in about a year. And her second one already needs to be dyed and it's about a year old. I've never had a shevy and when I see people who have them I can't see how it's worth the money.
I heard they used to be better.

| I've had several. Long dark brown wavy. It's really hit or miss. They all looked great when new. And the one I was unhappy with was repaired and then replaced without a fuss. It really is hit or miss though. They were all the same quality purchased from the same place but the hair didn't last too well on some and they all oxidized at different rates, but sooner than I would have expected. They're never the same after being dyed.

I had a shevy years ago, back in the days when hardly noone knew her and she wasn't that crazy expensive. I was very happy with it, and it lasted for years. now im older and wiser (and poorer) and
have been trying other brands-I am currently very happy with kiki. I have 2 and am so far very happy. the shabbos one is 2 1/2 years old, and holding up very well.
I have come to realize, that as others have said, it really is hit or miss, with all brands.
Be matzliach with yours!

| I'd question whether they are really using virgin hair if the lighter colors are bleaching out, or particularly turning reddish so quickly! That sounds to me like the hair has been colored. (Blondes don't get reddish naturally. Think of any girl you know with blonde hair--does it turn red towards the ends? That part of her hair would be up to 3 years old unless it's been cut)

Similar to what Chabadnikit wrote - I got married in 2005 and bought one wig, a Shevy.
It STILL looks AMAZING in pristine condition. (I'll admit I dont wear it every day but still) 7 years later and no sign of dying !! yay
However, like the above mother posted, people tell me that for the same length (and nowadays its more the style to go LOOOOONG) we're talking $4,000 literally.
SOOOOO long story short -- Shevys are known for amazing quality, long lasting - gorgeous. And me personally, im very into buying quality that lasts.
However, there are so many new companies of wigs popping up all over the place. And women want the chance to buy new wigs more often - so they can change the styles, lengths, colors etc. Youre able to do this when you buy cheaper and more often as opposed to a more expensive Shevy. (do I make sense?)
Im surprised that I changed my attitude about this. I used to feel "ONLY SHEVYS" (or top rated brands) - but now I feel like its the same money buying a new wig every 2,3,4 years, new style, a fresh new look - than keeping the same wig for 10 years.
I hope that was helpful.
PS - regardless of what you decide, theres a reason Shevy is so expensive, because they're GOOD !!!!
Good luck with your decisions.

in 8 years I have owned:
stage 1: clueless
tali- first shaitel, bit mistake, wore for 2 years
isabel- cheaper brand, also 2 years as my second sheitel
stage 2: got it together
shevy- lasted 6 years
allegria- bought 3 years ago and still looks amazing, use as a second sheitel to my shevys
shevy- bought this year
I love how full shevy's are, I am very happy. Must say my allegria is quite good as well.

| 4 years and still going strong with my 2 Shevys- I love them, but I did go for the more expensive MB line. No issues with them- cap, hair, no knotting issues, etc. I am a auburn though, so if my shaitels went more red, I either didn't notice, or don't mind. I would buy again in a heartbeat- but I went through a great shaitelmacher, and then sent it to the Shevy store for highlighting, and then to fix a knotting issue.

My experience was: terrible customer service at the salon. I was straight out lied to as a kallah. The hair on mine is terrible. And they cut it very poorly as well.
However, some shevy wigs are great. If you want one, go to a reputable, honest sheitel macher who will stand behind it.
