She stole my coupons!!

This is so stupid. Or is it?

A few months ago, I hired a housekeeper for the first time to help us out on Sundays. So far she seems ok. I mean, she's clean, professional, honest, the kids like her etc. Basically, she does the job.

I'm very into collecting coupons from the Sunday paper to save money on groceries (I usually save between $25 and $75 a week, so it really pays off) It takes me about 45minutes to organize it all and I always do it on Sundays, the day she comes. She sees me doing it.

So today I went to look for the paper and the coupons were missing. But it's happened a few times before, so I figured something happened... Except that her bag was right next to the paper, and peeking out from it were the little coupon books that come in the paper.

My first thought was, "well look at that. She coupons too..." But now I'm wondering if she's been taking my coupons. For the past few months, whenever I get the paper, they're in there. But whenever she gets it for me, they're missing... So now I'm thinking that she's taking them.

I don't even know if this is a huge deal. I mean, they're coupons. But at the same time, I pay for the newspaper subscription and it's not like I don't use the coupons. And she's SEEN me use them. The least she could do is ASK if she can have them!!

Now I'm wondering if she'll steal something so dumb as that, what else would she steal?

Or maybe I'm looking at this wrong??

Should I say anything? should I just fire her? should I just ignore it and be Dan Lchaf Zechut? I don't know!

I would ask her- Hi Marina, I'm wondering if you've seen the coupons from this paper. I always collect them and I can't find any from this week. Do you know if they fell out or something?

Then see how the next few weeks work out.

I've had coupons stolen as well and there are dozens of cleaning women walking past my home all day. I definitely suspect that one of them takes it so I try to get out there early.

If only my cleaning lady had stolen my coupons I wouldn't have been as annoyed as I was when I realized she had been stealing $20 bills from my DS over that past while but yes, I would ask her about them...Just make her aware that you use them & are on the look-out for them..
