Anybody send their child to Hebrew Charter School in US?

Does anybody here in the US send their child to a Hebrew Charter School? The city where I live is looking to open one next year. I'm seriously thinking about considering it as an option and so is at least 1-2 other frum parents I know. I would like to hear experiences from other parents.

I'm not thrilled with sending my child to a public school, so I'm going to really need to research this carefully. If I did something like this, I would hire a tutor or someone to help supplement my child's jewish education, in addition to learning with me and my husband at home. Also, I'm really thinking about this because I'm not the only frum parent in my community considering this. If my friend(s) also sent their children, my child wouldn't be the only frum child in the school.

The cost of sending my child to day-school is so expensive and in another year or two we'd like to have another child. I don't honestly know how we could afford the tuition for 2 kids. Both my husband and I work full-time (and my husband is still in school), so homeschooling is currently not an option. I make more $ than my husband and there's just no way we could live on one salary right now, not with a mortgage payment. Also, I live in a small out of town community and the majority of the kids in the day-school are not religious. So, in some ways, I'm feeling, what is the difference sending my child to a Hebrew charter school? Also, there is just so much politics going on a the local school l'm not thrilled about and my husband and I are not very happy with some the of leadership there.

I don't want this to be a thread with any bashing or rude comments. I'm just wondering if there are other parents here in the US who have gone the route of sending their child to a Hebrew charter school (or public school). What worked? What didn't? Would appreciate any advice, experience to share.

I would love to have a charter school in my area. I can't afford tuition around here. what area do you live in?

Any chance you are in Philly? I heard that they may be opening one here and I would be interested in it but I really haven't the slightest clue what it actually is.
Whether you are in Philly or not can you enlighten me to what it is? We are not happy with the frum school here and are in serious need of other options.

I think it depends on the particular school in question. Some have a larger frum population than others.
