This got me thinking: what if someone offered to pay forward a kidney specifically to an individual who had someone on the receiving end who would pay forward a kidney to someone else? (IF exchange wasn't possible.) Then that "pay if forward" individual did the same. Imagine how long such a chain could be and how many people could be helped! (Of course, it would seem unfair that this would rule out people who didn't have individuals who would or could donate on their behalf, but they would presumably move quicker up the recipient list as other people got their kidneys.) |
I seem to recall such an idea in an article in Binah magazine about kidney transplants.

I think an organisation like 'relief ' was talking about it, or was already doing it.
