My children for the most part are chickens and I love it . When we go to the park, I watch them, but I know that they're not going to try anything stupid/dangerous.
I was talking to a friend who most of her children are chickens, but her sisters children are daredevils. She tried to tell her to make her children be more careful until she realized that that's their personalities and she should mind her own business . _________________ Don't take whatever I say too seriously, this is entertainment for me .

Out of my four, one is a huge climber but doesn't like roller coasters or anything high (although dh finally got him on a water slide and he couldn't get him off), the second one likes some roller coasters, doesn't climb much, and is very middle of the road. The third is a total adrenaline junkie - loves the highest, fastest, roller coasters and the big drop water slides, and the fourth is a big daredevil climber, but she's too small yet to know if she'd like roller coasters, but she didn't much like the slow flying airplane type kiddie ride.
So, mine are all types of thrill-seekers, but as far as watching them in a park or climbing around on things at home, I find it not necessarily tied to how much of a thrill seeker they are, but more how much their parents are on top of them with a "that's dangerous, stop."

A child who is a daredevil will more likely go to the end of a platform and see if he can jump, the other type of child wouldn't and may not even go close to the edge.
BTW, I was just giving an example anyway.

Honestly, both of those terms make me cringe and labeling a child with either is probably a bad idea.
Personally, I encourage my DD to try new and scary things while pointing out that some things are too dangerous and she can hurt herself. So she is daring but careful. I also never ever pushed her if she had a fear of something. When she was younger she was afraid of swings and I immediately took her off as soon as she asked and only put her on if she agreed to go on.
Your playground example: she climbs on the "big" climbing thing and goes down the "big" slide. The first few times I stood right next to her, my heart jumping into my throat every time she toddled over to the edge and peered down the seven-foot high pole. But she never tried going down it unless I was right there.

Me too. My boy is very cautious and my daughter is afraid of nothing. One day when she was six, I was making supper and I looked out and she was on my neighbor's roof. She is bored on scary rides. She loves heights and speed. b'h, she is a very good girl and listens well. I just did not think to tell my girl not to go on roofs.

My girls are daredevils in amusement parks. My boys go for the tame rides.
My kids are all climbers-the kind of climbing you cant watch -afraid that they will lose their foothold and fall down the mountain. My mom calls my kids mountain goats! _________________ If you're gonna be blue, be bright blue!

My 2.5 year old DS seemingly has no sense of self-preservation. Whether it's jumping head-first off the couch, running into walls face-first, trying to use the floor as a slip-n-slide when I'm mopping, or using furniture for every use OTHER than its intended one, I can NEVER take my eyes off of him, and it's exhausting trying to keep up with him.
Baruch Hashem, I've trained him well enough that he doesn't try to run into traffic, which is a huge relief, because he can BOLT much faster than I can even realize he let go of my hand. _________________ I don't know half of you half as well as I should like; and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.
