I remember some time ago in Binah or something there was a recipe that was basically pizza made from slices of potatoes with sauce and cheese on top. Thinking of making that as a side for supper tonight but I can't remember whether you're supposed to pre-bake the potatoes or just slice them raw, put the cheese on, and bake them all together? Anyone know?

I don't know what you're talking about, but if they're thin enough, I wouldn't pre-bake them.

It was basically mini pizzas but using potato slices as the base instead of a bread-type base. I didn't read the details though because it seemed so "duh."

I would prebake it because then you just need to heat it enough to melt the cheese. When it looks good you'll know for sure that it's ready. There's nothing wrong with potatoes being in the oven for an extra 15 minutes. But raw? Nah.
(btw that's a yummy gluten free meal!)

OK, thanks for bumping this because I meant to update just in case anyone was reading Wink

I did not prebake the potatoes. They came out OK but a little borderline, I'd probably give them an extra 10 minutes or so of prebaking next time. Peel and slice, lay out on lightly greased tray, stick in oven (I think I did 400 F but I also think my thermostat is off so it was probably more like 375) remove after 10-15 minutes, splash on some sauce, sprinkle spices of choice, sprinkle shredded cheese, and return to oven until the cheese is very melty. They were really good! I know potatoes are about as starchy as vegetables come but still an improvement for my diet over regular dough with all the gluten and yeast and such.
