What stupid thing have you seen lately?

My ds brought home a note yesterday that pta is from 4:30-6:30. They get dismissed at 4:30. Confused

I never post my own thoughts in regular subforums on this site because everyone knows who I am and I'm afraid to say the wrong thing without any level of anonymity. Obviously I�m a regular person with regular opinions and regular issues, so I am going to post something here that will present the flip side of the coin about funny things people in my line of work occasionally deal with.

This didn�t happen recently, but it definitely goes in the hall of fame for funny emails I have received. A woman contacted me around 2 years ago expressing deep disappointment in a wig she purchased that was supposedly European, untreated hair. She wrote a long complaint about how badly the wig she purchased knotted and described a degree of knotting I have never seen before. Of course I sympathised with her and expressed regret. I asked her questions about the wig that could indicate why it could have possibly knotted to such an extreme degree, but everything she told me seemed normal. At the end I asked her where she gets it washed and if she happens to know how her sheitel macher washed it. Washing is a fairly simple process so I most definitely was NOT prepared for the answer she gave me. She said that she washed it herself...get ready for it...in the washing machine (?!?!?!). Shocked

Clearly this was the first time she ever had any experience with a wig and I couldn�t figure out why in the world she wouldn't attempt something like this without contacting someone for advice first. I ended up telling her that I didn�t think I would be able to help her. I�ve had some funny descriptions of methods people come up with to wash their wigs, but this one really took the cake.

so I guess that episode on people's court about wig being washed was not that off its more common than we think At wits end
