I have a vague relative, female, Hungarian, born early 1800's, named Hauzi.
What does that come from? I cannot find...

From 'The Book": Hauze - Gerhuze; Germanic name borrowed from German Christians, Gentile Gerhusa, Gerhaus, Girhus.
