My son is eligible to attend Machzik brocha. He has speech delays, some processing delays and very short attention span among other things but is otherwise a sweet, happy, normal child.

He is three years old. Anyone have personal experience in sending their child to machzik brocha? Are the teachers warm and loving? Is it a good environment?

I'm going to see the school on Wednesday, but would like to be prepared with info- as he is not special needs he has the option of attending a normal preschool with a lot of Seit.

a close family member attended years ago and the mother regrets that decision till this day. you are not just looking for a warm environment; he will be loved, but will he learn skills and improve function???? that is the point. you need a school with both. also, don't shy away from non jewish programs. some are amazing and do wonders for the children that attend! look into many programs and compare.

Do they hire good therapists, like OT, PT, Speech and Play Therapists?

I had the option to send my child there and when I did my research I could not find ONE parent that was happy with the school.

The parent who did research, can you elaborate? What were the parents not happy with?

he did not make any progress there. which is a huge deal considering that it was a whole year and after age five progress slows down considerably why don't you look into striveright? I think their program helps children with auditory processing issues.

amother who did research. Spoke to therapists that worked with kids there as well as others who knew parent who sent there and again, no real progress made. Perhaps it's not run well, I don't know.

I was also going to recommend strivright - they have excellent teachers and therapists.

Thanks so much for all who responded. Stive right is full- they only have space for tuition paying parents which I can't afford at this point....
