Thank you all for your input.

Just please don't think I'm a bad mom, I'm "learning on the job" and was just asking for advice....

If all you experienced moms say this is a normal stage and it will pass, then I will definitely do my best to enjoy it [and ignore the unfolded laundry and other such things]

Thank you again!

It's great to have an open mind and evaluate your methods. You're doing a good job. Keep it up!

It's so hard to follow your instincts when our society is so full of mixed messages. So many women who were raising their children in the previous generations were introduced to the new idea of fear of"spoiling" their kids with too much attention - much of this was a method to encourage women into the workforce and make them feel less guilty for the distance from their children.

While working outside the house is often not a choice for us too, we can choose what messages resonate with us as parents. I find that a lot of the "noise" about putting babies down out of fear of spoiling is misguided and doesn't actually work. Babies who are cuddled and kept close tend to thrive in the secure bonds of attachment that are established with their parents - and the parents quickly learn their baby's signs and signals, which reduces crying and makes it more manageable.

Good luck! Being a new mother is a learning process and it's great you feel comfortable discussing your concerns here.

And yes, you will hear many different opinions... feel free to ignore or listen to the advice that resonates with you.

Smile
