I have been a full charge bookkeeper for over 20 years and I am going to be looking for a job in Lakewood. I understand the pay is low there.

Does anyone have an idea how much an experienced full charge bookkeeper will make an hour.

I need to know how much to ask for when I go out on an interview. In Brooklyn I would have been able to get between $30 and $35 an hour.

I think you'll be 'making a mint' if an employer is willing to pay you even $20 an hour. Lakewood is full of young girls working as bookkeepers for about $15 an hour so being that supply is high, it's easy to find someone will to work for that.
But the cost of living is lower too, I.e. rent etc..

This what I am afraid of, it does not pay for me to work for $15 an hour.

I have sent resumes which shows I have a lot of experience and I have not gotten any call back. I assume because they see from my experience that they would need to pay me more.

Unfortunately, yes Sad Unless you're willing to travel to the neighboring townships, but that won't be a Jewish environment. Don't know if that's what you're looking for...

If you are an experienced bookkeeper, you should be able to get at least $23-$25. I speak from experience, not just assuming, btw. Of course if you have experience in RE, that would be the best, as that is the rage here.
