| |
I have been a full charge bookkeeper for over 20 years and I am going to be looking for a job in Lakewood. I understand the pay is low there.
Does anyone have an idea how much an experienced full charge bookkeeper will make an hour.
I need to know how much to ask for when I go out on an interview. In Brooklyn I would have been able to get between $30 and $35 an hour.

I think you'll be 'making a mint' if an employer is willing to pay you even $20 an hour. Lakewood is full of young girls working as bookkeepers for about $15 an hour so being that supply is high, it's easy to find someone will to work for that.
But the cost of living is lower too, I.e. rent etc..

This what I am afraid of, it does not pay for me to work for $15 an hour.
I have sent resumes which shows I have a lot of experience and I have not gotten any call back. I assume because they see from my experience that they would need to pay me more.

Unfortunately, yes Unless you're willing to travel to the neighboring townships, but that won't be a Jewish environment. Don't know if that's what you're looking for...

| If you are an experienced bookkeeper, you should be able to get at least $23-$25. I speak from experience, not just assuming, btw. Of course if you have experience in RE, that would be the best, as that is the rage here.
