| So I'm not working right now and my kollel husband comes home for lunch. I'm looking for suggestions that are easy, filling, and different from "supper". My DH is not a picky eater, I just want to get some variety going besides pasta, tuna, and peanut butter.

omlettes, shakshouka
hearty soup with bread and plain green salad
fried rice, stir-fry
falafel, small patties in a pitta
quiche
personally I see nothing wrong serving similar foods for lunch/supper...

in our house we have pretty much the same foods every day for lunch. Eggs and salad, maybe with microwaved potatoes, tuna sandwiches or tuna salad, cheese sandwiches, sometimes salmon, falafel.
or leftovers of whatever was for supper the night before.

Thanks for the suggestions, my DH doesn't like felafel (one of his few dislikes ). What kind of soups? Especially now that it's summer. Trying to avoid too much tuna as I'm expecting/soon to be nursing, and DH doesnt like salmon. Supper doesn't always yield leftovers--especially since 2-3 nights a week our dinners are shabbos leftovers .

| Same boat as OP, right down to the DH not liking falafel! Also, I very often just make macaroni and salad for supper so now it seems like such a gyp to have that for lunch and then have to come up with something different. DH's kollel is attached to a school so during the school year they get free lunch. Sigh.

Yea usually my DH eats in yeshiva, but right now I'm home so he comes home. Mornings right now are basically nap/down time for me and my toddler so I don't want to have to patchke too much to make lunch. To top it off I'm, due bs't any day now.
Oh yea, we don't have a microwave--just toaster oven.
