What do you do when your kid is sick??

Today was the first day back at work after y"t, and I really needed to be at work, but my child was really sick, high fever, virus. There was NO way I could send her to babysitter like this, so I had to text my boss that I will not be in. I feel very unreliable. LOoks like she will be sick a couple more days...My job is not the type I can do whatever I want and I need to be here. Its so frustrating. What do you do when you have a sick kid and need to be at work?? (dh to stay home not an option).

I have a backup babysitter to be in my house when my kid is sick.

or I miss work. I have a limited amount of sick days, and I think it can be used if your kid is sick.

If there is no one reliable to keep your child, then a parent needs to stay home. Here a doctor will write such a note for the boss, but if it happens often then the boss may send someone to see if it's really real

I stay home or DH works from home. It's very hard, though. B'H my boss is a frum guy with a lot of kids, so he knows how it is.

Thats so smart, thats what I need- how do you get someone like that, that will just come to you whenever you need??

For now I have a babysitter at home for my baby, and when my older one needs to stay home from school she'll watch both. before I had someone full time to watch my baby, I had someone clean my house in the mornings and go to my neighbor in the afternoons. I worked out with my neighbor that if my kid is ever sick then the sitter/cleaning lady will stay by me the whole day, and I would try to send her over to the neighbor for more hours when I am off to make up for the time I took from her. Also, since the cleaning lady was by me till 1, I had the option of at least leaving my baby/older daughter until that time so at least I could work 1/2 day.
