Recent grad needs an OT job. All offers are very far from New York City.

What to do? Its a single girl, who if she moves far from NYC, frumkeit will suffer dramatically.

It seems strange that she can't find jobs. Where did she look?
What about the frum agencies, yeled vyalda, omni, striverite, etc...? They usually say they have openings.
What about Hasc?

NYC probably has more job openings for OTs than any other city in the US. Besides what was mentioned above, check indeed.com too. She doesn't have to wait for an ad, though. She can research different places she might be interested in, and send each one an email with her resume and a nice cover letter. Many places are looking to hire but don't get around to advertising.

she can also call the board of ed directly. My friend works in a public elementary school in bp. She likes it because her hours are like 8-230 and then she goes home to take care of her family and a set salary. She doesn't have to shlep around and work very long hours for a similar salary.

OTOH some people specifically want to work with Jewish children because they feel more comfortable, then she can contact the agencies mentioned.

omni has a clinic that adults come to

there are several rehab/hand clinics in brooklyn and Manhattan, those are outpatient facilities. if she's single and willing to work early morning/late afternoon then she'll find more things...most OT's who are married with kids only want typical daytime hours.

she can also look for open positions in skilled nursing facilities/nursing homes. go online to tender touch rehab, they have some facilities in ny.

therapuetic resources is an agency who knows of many job openings in NY, google them for contact info, sign up for their email updates of jobs.

you can also google OT jobs ny, and see what comes up. its usually agencies but sometimes other things come up. also google hand clinics or rehab or skilled nursing facilities in ny, see if they offer ot services and the girl should start sending in her resume even if there are no job postings, they will prob keep it on file until a position opens.
