| |
| Hi, please help ASAP! I am making cheesecake today but only have a parev mixer and parev large bowl. Is it ok to use as the cheese is cold, or do I need to go shopping? Thank you Rochel.

| You should really call your rav but I believe that if it is all cold and not sharp, there's no reason not to use parev utensils etc. When you wash it, wash off all the mixture in cold water first, and only when there is not more residue of it you should wash it in hot soapy water.

I'd ask a Rav BUT technically if the ingredients are not yad soledet then the bowl remains pareve. My issue is always remembering to wash cold and so I, personally, am makpid to use a dairy bowl and spoon for my cheesecake, and I have a single dairy cake tin for baking it. L'halacha, however, it's not a problem. _________________ Emmanuel Tzvi: 26 Shevat 5766

Thank you very much for all your replies. I now I got around the problem by buying a plastic bowl and hand whisk just for milky use. A plus is that I can now use the bowl for 'Greek style' salad, with lettuce and feta cheese etc.
Thank you again and wishing you a Good Yom Tov / Chag Someach!
