my son has a babysitter who he really likes. she is making a "pre-camp" camp...you know, for the days when school has already ended but camp didn't start.

However, this sitter's camp is $$$$....I think it's $12-15 more than a lot of the other camps that I see advertised, plus the hours are shorter, so I would need more extetend hours...let's say maybe I would end up spending another $30 for the whole week.

I feel pulled: one one hand: my son knows her, he likes, it's only one week that I'll need to cough up this extra $$$.

on the other hand, there is a reason I work: I need to bring income into my household! I can't just spend $30 for no reason....

I keep going back and forth: should I spend the extra money or not bother? The big meilah is that my son already knows the morah and likes her. it's only one week of an extra $30, and do you know what? It's not like I won't be able to buy groceries or anything that week because of an extra $30! but still.....

any thoughts?

Honestly, for one week, I'd do an extra $30...for a month, no.
It's hard enough to adjust to camp, but to adjust twice 2 weeks in a row? Even tougher.

I'll meet you by the rice aisle next week Very Happy

I'd probably also cough it up for a week but would probably grumble about it...(BTW ceo, I think I owe you a phone call back? My husband told me you left a message and once messages are played on our machine it stops flashing so I never remember about returning calls).

Can I tell you my frustrations with this whole camp business?

June 1 I pay the regular monthly playgroup fee.
Playgroup ends according to the BY calendar, in the middle of June. I then have to pay for a week of "pre-camp." Then I have to start paying for camp. It ends up being twice the normal fee when I add it all together. And this year and last my daughter continued on for the summer w/ the same playgroup teacher...so I always felt like I was paying the same individual twice for the overlap. I really shouldn't complain because I guess that's standard policy?

I feel the same way.

Daycamp for my 4 year old will cost me more per month than playgroup...plus it begins the week school ends, so in June I'm paying an additional fee on top of playgroup.

What choice do I have? She doesn't let me work, so I have to send her out. (I work from home).
