| |
| I had to stay home from a friend's wedding today (that I had RSVP'd yes to) because my nursing baby was sick. For obvious reasons, a phone call was out of the question; I did text my apologies, but I doubt she has seen it yet. I also called some other friends who were going to tell her, and they said they would. I am going to one of the SB, but I am heartsick about missing the wedding, I was so excited for it. I also feel so rude, but there was just no way around it. Is there anything else, other than what I've already done/am doing that I can make it up to her?

| Sounds to me like you've done whatever you can. Can you bring the baby to the wedding with a babysitter in a side room, or can dh stay nearby with the baby?

It was a morning wedding, so what's done is done Anyway, the baby had 102 fever when he woke up this morning, so I don't think he would have appreciated being schlepped around. And he didn't eat one bite of food all day, just nursed and nursed...

Sometimes as mothers we make decisions that are best for our families, I'm sure your friend will understand. If she doesn't she will learn to understand one day. I would just say Mazal Tov at the SB and tell how much you wished you could have been there. _________________

| I missed a close friends wedding a while back (for a good enough reason) and she still never fails to remind me of that! A wedding gift with just a few words might be nice.
