Love this recipe, I have it ready to go into the oven within 8 minutes! If you are going to bake them immediately after preparing the dough, make sure to preheat your oven at least 5 min before you start, or else it might not be hot enough by the time they are ready to go in.
Butterless Chocolate Chip Cookies
Combine:
½ c brown sugar (I prefer dark, but light is fine)
½ c regular white sugar
½ c oil
1 egg
Mix well. Add:
Pinch of salt
½ tsp baking soda
½ tsp vanilla extract
Mix well. Stir in:
1 c chocolate chips
Stir in:
1 ¼ c flour
Mix well, by hand. Either refrigerate until firm enough to roll into 1” balls with your hands, or use a cookie scoop (small ice cream scoop) to shape immediately. Place on cookie sheets (no need to grease) 1 ½ - 2” apart. Bake at 350° F about 8 minutes or until just starting to brown. Don’t overbake or they will become crispy – they are supposed to be soft.
I get about 48 cookies 2” in diameter from this recipe.

basically halved the oil/sugar and used WW instead of white flour.

this cracked me up. its a completely different recipe once you change every ingredient!
I just tried Mommeeeeeee!'s recipe, ts firming in the frdge, but yours will be my next try, qtpie!

Made these yesterday and they were really delicious- thank you for the recipe!
The only mistake I made was leaving the second batch in the oven a bit longer as they didn't look ready- they're not half as gooey as the first half. We'll know for next time!

I make this recipe all the time. It is amazing. you don't need the full amount of oil I usually end up using a 1/3 of a cup. (My differences are also 1 tsp vanilla essence and 1/2 tsp salt)
Many times I'll bake it as a log, bake for 20 minutes total. During the last 2 minutes of baking sprinkle on chocolate chips, then shmear when melted. And sprinkle on chopped nuts and slice into spears. they are so pretty for dessert or to send to someone for a simcha.
You can also bake in an 8x8 pan for 20 minutes and slice as bars.
I also mix mine in a bag. It gets a good consistency and doesn't even make a bowl or spoon dirty.

| I just made this- halved the sugars and used half the amount of chocolate chunks instead of chips, and put baking powder instead of baking soda in one tray (mistake), and then the bp and bs in the second and dh LOVED them. and this came from someone who didnt want me to make them bc he never liked the chocolate chip cookie I made. ever.
