HELP! Warts all over her face - how can I get rid of them???

My 5-yr-old daughter has warts on her face, and every day there seems to be another one coming out. The doctor said that since they are near her eyes/mouth, we can't really do anything about it, but help! They are multiplying and I read online they can take up to 2 years to go away on their own!

Does anyone know of any home remedies that actually work to get rid of warts?

my dr mentioned I shouldn't mention them to my dc a lot or point them out because it might make them more aware and pick at it. If they look infected maybe put on bactriban so there is no scarring.
Maybe don't wash other children together in the bath with her as it can be passed between children that way.

grate a potato, put potato juice on the warts with a q-tip. Be careful not to get it in the eyes.

Did you take her to a dermatologist? Or just her ped?

Apple Cider Vinegar
Cotton balls (end of Q-tip will do)
Band-aid

Each night before going to bed soak a cotton ball in apple cider vinegar, apply it to the wart and then hold it in place with a band-aid. Leave it on all night, or if you like, 24 hours a day but change the soaked cotton and band-aid each evening for a week.

The wart will swell and may throb as it reacts with the vinegar and then start to turn black within the first two days and after a week or two will be completely gone.

N.B. It is important to continue the treatment for a few days to a week after the wart has fallen off to help ensure it does not come back.

Ask about salicylic acid.. It works very well.
Also , positive thinking works for warts. Warts are viral and will eventually go away on their own.

Go to a dermatologist! This could lead to major scarring. It's not appropriate to use home remedies.

I had it really close to my eyes. A dermatologist removed them. If you leave it for too long it will just get worse.

If they are molluscum do you really have to do anything about them, like go to a dermatologist? New ones keep popping up until the whole thing is over.
Three of my kids had it. For my older 2 it went away after 2 years. One son picked the ones on his legs and he does have scarring from that. My dd who is 2 has a bunch on her back and 2 on her face. But I just assumed they would end soon, just like it did for my others. I'm trying to bathe my baby seperate always and use her own towels to prevent her from getting it, but I'm assuming she can still get it from others like in day care eventually or in day camp.
One of my sister-in-law gave her son a herbal supplement that supposedly helps.

My daughter had some really ugly warts on her face and on her hands.
The dermatologist burned them off and they just came back. Eventually he said that it could scar.
I went to a classical homeopath (Vera Resnick) and she treated my daughter. You're not going to believe this but her warts all FELL OFF.

my dd had it and they fell off and left no scar. my dd only had it by her eyes (on her face - the rest was on her body).. if I were you, I would go to an eye dr. you can use dr. lautenberg in brick or dr. katowitz in chop...

btw, I have heard the potato really works as well as witchhazel...

lakewood dermatologist: dr Tarlow on route 9, he treated my dd's eczma, I was very happy with him.

I had a few warts on my hand as a kid, we tried OTC things, freezing/burning it of by the dermatologist. The only thing that finally worked was when I went to a dermatologist that specialized in laser, and she lasered off all the warts. it took 4-5 visits and I have some unnoticeable scarring in those spots but they never came back. see if someplace near you specializes in this.

One of my kids got warts on his hands once. I never had warts, so didn't pay attention when he got the first few, but then he had 5-6 on each finger, it was horrid. The worst was when he also got one on the tip of his nose. I used banana peels taped overnight. ALL was gone with in 2 weeks. About the same time I got terrible pink eye. It was before 3 day Yom Tov and I was too busy to take care of it. When after Yom Tov I went to Eye doc. he told me that I have some bumps next to my eye. I realized it must have been warts, and used potato juice to get rid of them. Neither my son nor I have any scarring. The only thing I'd like to add is thet the earlier you deal with the wart the faster they go away.

OP here. Thanks so much for all your replies! I have another visit scheduled for her with her pediatrician to find out if it molluscum or warts. I will also ask about all the recommendations posted here, sounds like the potato juice got the most votes and it also seems like the easiest one to do for her case. (She has on her eyelids and lips, so I don't think we could something like a banana peel.)
