| I am anon cuz a bunch of people know about this. But basically I have to go off egg whites, dairy and nuts to see if it will help my baby who is nursing and has eczema. I am very confused in regards to the egg whites. Should I bake stuff at home and just seperate the egg or is some of the egg white going to get in whatever I make? Can I eat mayonnaise? Please give me ideas of what to eat. Also when I go out to eat, what am I allowed to have? Very confused here. Please help. Thanx

I nursed 2 highly allergic children, with one of the allergies being egg whites.
Many mayos have egg yolks only so check the ingredients. If only yolks, it's fine. Baked products are pretty much off limits, but chocolate chip cookies work fine with egg yolks only. I used egg yolks in meatloaf and meatballs too.

| You probably should stay off eggs completely. My ds is allergic to egg whites, and he is so sensitive that he would definitely react to a yolk, which has to have at least a tiny bit of white in it. He would also react to baked stuff with egg in it. So you may not get any answers unless you are really careful. That means no mayo. At home, just check ingredients very carefully before you eat anything. At a restaurant, look at the menu, decide on a few things that seem unlikely to have those ingredients, and ask the waiter to check for you. IME, they are very accommodating. But always ask, because eggs end up in funny places, especially in restaurants.
