| I find the story interesting, but written more to the Israeli readers. I do find that the mishpacha in general, targets Israeli readers because they translate so many of the articles.

wow thanks all of you .
This story had been percolating in my head for years. I volunteered at our local nursing home for 10 years, I went through infertility, I have a fascination with popular culture despite not having a TV ( I do watch some stuff on the computer now and then, shhhh), so I put together all those stories from my knowledge of those topics. It was fun. I posted it in chapter form on that gorup,a new chapterevery few days, like a serial story, the ppl loved it!!!
The sequel is under 'messages' in may '05. Check the front page and scroll down to may05 and click there.

Mindy, I loved, loved the story. I loved your colorful descriptions. I loved how everything tied together. Amazing!
I printed it out erev Shabbos (I saw afterwards that I might not have been allowed? was I? I threw out the papers afterwards). The whole Shabbos I read it. Dh kept asking, r u finished yet so I can exchange two words with u?
I was glued to the story!! I'm so happy I didn't have to wait 4 u to add each chapter, I'm not very patient
sooo good. I liked how at first u made the reader annoyed at Toby & then u feel so bad for her at the end. The descriptions were so detailed! I was amazed at your knowledge at so many diff things: medical (well, now that I see that u worked at a nursing home it makes sense:) ) , show biz & other things I can't think of now.
Really great read!

I hate this story and I wrote to mishpacha a number of times but they wont print my letters.. the characters are extreme, the plot pointless, the story is poorly written and just plain stupid.
just venting.

Forget it...they once wrote an article about our city...it was so inaccurate you just wouldn't believe it. People wrote letters complaining but they didn't respond.
BTW Mindy, if your mother ever agrees, I know a woman who writes regularly for Mishpacha (the kids section) and she told me she gets paid something like $25 for each article. So don't think you'll ever get rich! (Unless they pay more for the adult sections)

thanks happy2beme. It's okay ot print out the story if you dont save it or send it further. I"m so happy you enjoyed it.
I specifically made out Toby to be a sad case because I had to balance out the story, in that infertile women often think they are the worst off in the world - I certainly felt that way - but sometimes mothers of many children have a tough life too for reasons that are hidden in the closet.

Despite the fact that I can't stand the mishpacha story, so extreme, even for israelis (imho), can someone please post what happened in the last two weeks (her father was on his way to talk to father in law), then what.
TIA

| My dh says he has a friend whose wife left him. It was not clear whether she couldn't handle the change or her parents. In some neighborhoods this could happen in Israel unfortunately.

Mindy, I'm waiting for approval, so I haven't read you book yet. Everybody here thinks its sensational. I am disappointed that you wouldn't be able to publish it. I completely understand kibud eim, but has your mother read the book? The only objection I read is that your personality comes out. What exactly is the problem with that?
Can she go on imamother and we'd all try to convince her that it isn't nice to with hold great frum reading from all us ladies?

I just printed it out for Shabbos. Do you let other (not on Yahoo or imamother) frum women read it, or would you rather I shred it when I'm done?
What if you secretly published it under an assumed name? I guess I'm just rooting for you and your talent, not trying to mess with your relationship with your mother.
Funnily enough, I live for making people realize their dreams....
I'm editing it to add: I've already read three chapters (isn't it Shabbos yet ) and I'd like to share it with my neighbor, frum mother, who is also a nursing home administrator...or would you rather she join yahoo first
