Hi, because of a few concerns I have about my son, I would like to get him evaluated. I live in Brooklyn, Ny. Any tips or recommendations from those experienced in the field? What organization is the easiest to work with and has the best therapists? How hard and long is the process.
Thanking you in advance.

How old is your son? It would make a difference if you are need an evaluation for Early Intervention services (younger than 3) or through CPSE which is once he is 3 or is almost turning 3. I believe you can have an eval. for CPSE once he is 2 years, 7 months.

I'm happy with Strivright/ Auditory Oral School. the phone # is 718-531-1800.
had some great therapists so far through them.
the process is not hard, you will give them your info and they will send the necessary evaluators to your home/school to evaluate the child. then they will write the reports and schedule a meeting to set up services. it probably takes a few weeks.

I did early intervention through step by step, I am very satisfied with the process.

I do think that the process is faster if you bring your child to the center, instead of separate evaluators fit you into their schedule
