| At what point would you stpo going into the room with your son at his yearly checkup. My 10 year old is due for his soon, and I wonder what's done?

| I don't have a boy - but my daughter's annual check up is a superquick physical exam, and a lot of questions for the parent, so the parent really needs to be there. The ped doesn't have the child undress fully, so it shouldn't be embarrassing, and if you have an opposite-gender doctor there really should be an extra adult in the room. Starting around puberty, it's a good idea to let the child have a few minutes alone with the doctor if s/he wants for private questions.
