Dh spent many years in school getting an advanced degree in a specialized field. He went to a very good school that is very highly ranked in his field. He really wants to work in his chosen profession. But today we got the final rejection. He has applied to hundreds of jobs in a few different countries on 3 continents.

It has been very difficult for us while he was in school, and now we feel it was all for nothing.
Please daven for job for him. Thank you.

My DH was just given an job offer after a long search. During the process we often remarked how similar the process is to looking for a shidduch (something we both did for a long time, too ). I hope your husband finds his "bashert" job soon. In the mean time, it seems like his real bashert is a source of strength for him.

I totally understand you.
My DH, too, spend thousands of dollars and many months to get his degree.
One thing I constantly reminded him, is that if this specific field doesn't work out, we will TRY not to be devastated. Disappointed yes, but we had to be open to reality!

First job offer he got after finishing school, was a complete different field! It was amazing. The offer was great but we weren't ready to settle. After that came another offer that was more his field, b"h.

So push it through another bit, maybe try another source or two, and if hat doesn't work, know that it isn't Bashert for your DH to work in that field. yes it's hard knowing you spent so much money on something that might not work out at the end. Look at it as an investment.

Today we are lucky when they're offered any decent paying job!

I know what you are going, I am going through the same thing myself. I have a degree in a very specialized field, in which it is nearly impossible to find a job. In addition to that I need to be licensed to be hired, but the only way to get licensed is to have a job in the first place, so it's been real tough. But as one poster said, it's like a shidduch, Hashem is holding off for now for whatever reason and at the right time the right opportunity will come, even if it's in a different form that we are expecting (I am saying this to myself too).

Op back again. He wants to apply in things outside of his field, but what?
The lease for our place ends soon and we need to figure things out. We came here for his studies so there isn't something specific keeping us here. But where to go?

He's totally down about his job prospects, which makes it super difficult to search for a jo b or sound confident when something comes up.
