I don't think e/ones avatar makes s/one perceive s/thing, mine for sure not, because it's just my name as opposed to a torah or a fridge or a faceless lady with a lovely grey shaitel. I am kinda bored of mine though, gonna change.

As you can see, it worked  - I had hit "apply" for the new avatar but hadn't hit submit at the bottom of the profile page. Thanks!!!
