What did you make this year that many guests loved?

stuffed chicken thighs:

roll up a slice of pastrami, roll a boneless skinless chicken thigh around it, dip it in egg (mixed with some minced garlic) and then in matzoh meal mixed with pepper, paprika and garlic powder.

arrange in a baking pan and bake until juices run clear.

my unstuffed cabbage went completely
I made the gooey pesach brownies from here (I undercooked it slightly and served it warm with ice cream)
the apple pear crumble was really good although it needs to be tweaked

Can you please post the apple pear crumble and sweet potato pie recipes?

Poached salmon from here went very well! Mock cole slaw and cucumber salad was great! GJ chicken went very well, I let it overbake a drop and everyone loved the crusty crispy texture.

The favorite dish here is "potatoes Anna".

peel and slice potatoes. Onions too. In a 9x13 dish, place a layer of potatoes. sprinkle with salt and pepper. place a layer of onions. repeat until dish is full, but have top layer as potatoes. sprinkle the salt and pepper and also paprika. pour 1/2 cup oil over all. cover tightly and bake 400 for 1/2 hour. uncover and bake 45 minutes more.

If want it for dairy, top with shredded cheese (or add cheese to the layers too). As I have to double wrap for dairy, I dont uncover while cooking and they are still great.

my guests and I (but not my family, they are not big potato fans) really liked the dough-less potato knishes that OOTbubby posted in the pesach menu thread.

The standing rib roast:
1/2 C prepared white horseradish
20 frozen garlic cubes
1/4 c olive oil
Greshly ground pepper (I put a lot but you can put what you like).
Mix all & smear on roast. Bake bone side down 25 min on 425 & then on 350 until it's done the way you like it (I use a meat thermometer)

The apple pear crisp has been posted many time. If you can't find it I'll post. The sweet potato pie I'll post in a little while when I find the recipe.

From this site, everyone loved the blondies, the broccoli kugel, marinated salmon and chocolate torte. So far!

Summer squash saute from ra_mom was a big hit. I didn't do much else new this year, but people liked the things I usually make, too.

I'm sure that will work just fine. It will prob be a little sharper but we like that.
The sweet potato pie recipe:

Praline:
4oz pecans
1/2 stick margarine
2/3 cup brown sugar

Sweet potatoes:
1 lb sweet potatoes
1/2 cup brown sugar
3 large eggs
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt

Topping:
1/2 cup pecan, chopped
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon margarine
Mix praline ingredients; cool to room temp.put on bottom of round pie plate. Bake sweet potatoes at 400 for 1 hr or until soft. Cool, peel, mash. Add other ingredients. Mix until smooth. Pour over pecans. Bake on 375 for 40 min. Mix topping ingredients to make crumbly mixture. Sprinkle around edges & a dollop in middle. Bake till brown.

How thinly do you slice the potatoes? Like scalloped potatoes or chunkier?
