My baby now sits in a booster seat. I cleaned it thoroughly and covered the tray with aluminum foil (heavy duty). Hah! Within 10 seconds he had pulled all the foil off. I don't have contact paper. Any other creative ideas of how to cover his tray for Pesach?

I've used super heavy duty foil, and then cut out a hard plastic placemat to the exact size of the high chair cover, and placed that on top.

Isn't that dangerous? I think that super-heavy duty stuff is really sharp.
I am looking for something too. Is contact paper good? Maybe I will try to get hold of some.

I used heavy tape on the edges so dd couldn't rip the foil or tape off.

I just cover the whole top and sides with heavy plastic and tape it with clear packing tape on the bottom.

I never covered the chair itself, since I dont cover my kitchen chairs, so why is this different? But I did buy a separate tray from the company when I bought the high chair so I would have one for pesach.

Whoops, I musta missed that. Thanks for pointing it out. Still, most companies do sell high chair trays separately on their websites.

I cover it with bleach! And then scrub, wash it off and it is good to go. No reason to cover it. As for the tray I just don't use it on pesach I roll my high chair to the table.

When you remove the contact paper after Pesach, it comes off easily without leaving sticky stuff behind?

I've seen high chair tray covers sold. Don't know if you want to spend the money. It was $10 for the small (Prince Castle) size and IIRC, maybe $20? for the larger size.

I've seen those. The high chair size was about $15. The price makes no sense for a piece of lining fabric. When something is so overpriced, I just make believe it doesn't exist. Besides, how do you clean a piece of fabric 6 times a day? Can't wash or wipe it with a paper towel.

I didn't know I needed to cover it. I'm going to wash it. I don't eat off of it, my son does. He's a baby. Never really thought it was necessary.

I always used that plastic tablecloth material you buy in the rolls. I taped it on the underside with heavy duty tape. Kept good the whole week and not too expensive.

I use contact paper, unfortunately sometimes it doesn't come off so smoothly and you need ot scrub a bit, but I think it is worth it, because it stays on and it is safe for the baby unlike foil which the baby can cut himself on. (or herself, but in my house the babies are only ever hims and not hers, so that's why I always use the 'him' example)

cheap vinyl tablecloth pieces (can get them at a fabric store cheap) and duct tape to fasten it. I've also cut a piece of the corrugated plastic we use on our counters and duct taped that. This year the "baby" is 2.5, so she'll be at the table. Now I'm rethinking the choice we made 6 months ago to put her at the table. It's slightly a problem on shabbos, but on pesach ... I'm not looking forward to it. Oh well. At least she'll be sleeping for seder.
