My dh is hsving 4single friends over for a meal friday night...this is my meal, most of it is already done, I just wana know what you guys think of it- if I should add anything, etc. also. TIA and good shabbos!
Friday Night:
Challah
Dips- jalenpeno, chumus, tachina, dill dip, homemade eggplant dip
gefilte fish
portabello mushroom salad
potato salad
chicken soup with kneidlach
shnitzel
potato kugel
sweet lokshon kugel
apple kugel
deli roll made with pastrami and corn beef and fried onions
sweet potatos with cinnoman
**I wouldve done more vegees and maybe a brown rice, but dh said the ywont touch it
Dessert is oreo cookie dough pie (parve oreos of course), rice kispie treats and fresh fruit
What do you think???

Would guys go for portabello mushrooms? My DH won't touch veggies

wow! cool! I am making shabbos for once (usually at my moms), and my menu is almost exactly the same!!
just my veggie salads are different and you are serving more side dishes for second course (I'm only serving kugels and greenbeans - but the same exact kugels as you!)

| thanks pineapple and ds!! yea the portabello salad is the one kind of salad dh loves...I sautee them first, kind of has a meaty texture

Hmm wouldn't it a bit too potato heavy with potato salad and potato kugel?
Also you have three sweet side dishes, apple kugel, lokshen kugel, sweet potato.
Maybe you can substitute zucchini or broccoku kugel? (counts as veggies that way).
Acknowledge it's probablly too late, but just my observation.

I hear what you are saying about the potato dishes, but I have to say, both were gobbled up, as were all the "sweet kugels". I made what guys like, and it was a big hit!
