Need an Odor Specialist! Please help!

So, we have a stackable washer/dryer thats 8 months old (or new I should say). I'm really happy with it. Its enclosed in a closet. Anyway for the past few weeks theres a bad odor coming from the closet area. We are honestly confused by what it is. It isn't coming from within the washer or dryer. I squeezed into the closet to check behind the machines and didn't find anything that would cause an odor, but the smell did get stronger. I'm no expert so I have no clue what it is, where it can be coming from or/and what to look for!
It sorta smells like distilled water or burnt lint, something of the sort. Its becoming so strong you can smell it even when the closet door is closed! Shocked

Its horrible!!
Anyone know what it can be, what I should look for, or who I can call that can help more?

PLEASE! I need this fixed ASAP!

I would have guessed that there's a dead mouse behind your machines, but the burnt lint smell means that it's probably a problem with your dryer. Please call an appliance repairman asap - there have been two accidents that I'm aware of where a fire was caused by a faulty dryer.
