b"h I have an amazing friend moving to a"y in a few weeks and I'd love to send her with a care pkg, but I have no idea what to put inside these are my thoughts: a backpack and some stuff she'll need for the plane ride books, toys for her baby, snacks ( things that are allowed on the plane)? anyone have any ideas?

I know we had our hands full and our bags stuffed when we made aliya. If anyone had given us a care package to take on the plane I might have cried and may have had to leave it behind. Making aliya with a family is huge and the little odds and ends at the end can be overwhelming no matter how well things are planned.
If you want to do something sweet, mail them a package.
If you are giving them a backpack of stuff for the plane, do it sooner than later. Don't spring it on them at the last minute. It is much much more likely to be appreciated.
It is a really sweet idea. If you had offered it to us enough in advance I would have been really appreciative. I just know how our last day was and how things were at the airport and when were were getting onto the plane. _________________ Liba, mommy to Zlata Tova 5/6/98, Tziporah Faiga 1/12/01, Esther Rivka 7/13/04 and Avraham Chaim 7/2/2006

I think it is a sweet idea. If you are close enough that you can casually ask if they have purchased toys, snacks and entertainment for the plane yet it would be wonderful. If their lift hasn't left yet I think anything goes as well.
