I work in web design, and occasionally a client wants SEO optimization. I would like to have the names of some frum women who are SEO professionals to give to clients.
Anyone out there?
Thanks!

I don't do SEO for clients, but I teach all the basics of SEO in my course Online Gelt 201. (google it). It might be worthwhile for you to understand SEO on your own so that you know when it's worth doing some on page SEO for clients and when it's not worthwhile.

FranticFrummie, did you consider investing in social media marketing instead of SEO? It might be something to look into.

TranquilityAndPeace, thanks--I keep thinking about taking a quick SEO course, but I'm not sure it's worth it if I don't have enough time and effort to invest in maintaining that knowledge, as SEO rapidly changes...

I do SEO, and although I am currently flooded with work, cityofgold and FranticFrummie, PM me with more details. This sounds interesting.
cityofgold, proper SEO includes social media marketing.

21young, do you do SEO/SMM exclusively, or do you also do web development?

I do web development and have a lot of seo knowledge (and know all on site seo that applies to creating a website) but don't consider myself an seo expert.
I do know a lot and have considered getting more into seo but never had the time for it.

It is a field that is always changing and if your in the web development field it's crucial to know some basics.

It's true that SEO is always changing, but the basics haven't changed since around 2005 when I got started:

- Decent on-page optimization

- A variety of backlinks pointing to your page, with many (not more than 50% or so; you want a natural-looking profile of backlinks) of them containing your target keyword in the anchor text. For example: Forum for Frum Women contains the anchor text we want this site to rank for, while click here contains generic anchor text.

That's really about it. People WAY overcomplicated it.

And it's a good idea to diversify, as one never knows who Google will slap next. I relied a lot on this network called BuildMyRank that got deindexed yesterday, but I could have told you that it is not smart to rely on any one particular platform for backlinking! http://www.buildmyrank.com/news/its-been-a-great-run

TranquilityandPeace, SEO hasn't changed since 2005? What about social media marketing? What about the Panda update?
cityofgold, I don't do web development, only SEO.

Lots and lots of individual factors have changed regarding SEO since 2005!

However, the BASIC PREMISE OF SEO REMAINS THE SAME!

And that is: Build quality content and get quality backlinks. Obviously, in 2005 people were more likely to email a link they liked to their friends than to post it on FB or twitter. However, the premise really doesn't change; only black and gray hat SEO techniques change.

Panda disregarded links from forum profiles and many article directories, which made getting links more challenging, but it didn't essentially change what needs to be done for SEO.
