I think next week they'll be married a few weeks already.

Remember when Riva was looking for people on this forum to share their experience about marrying into money? We have to get to that point already!

Well, forget those. They probably feature women, so they will never get printed in Mishpacha.

Lol pictures would involve taking someone else's wedding pictures and putting them in mishpacha. Anyone volunteering their wedding pictures as an example of an overly expensive wedding.

Maybe I shouldn't have written that on Tisha B'av.

I hope Riva sees this thread - the characters in this story really seem real!

Am I the only one who is having trouble seeing the reality?

The whole story is strange. Firstly Tzvi is divorced so he has gone through marriage before and seemed to have had a journey. Yet he seems so naive and sheltered. The way how he was after Yalli is also really strange. What is he attracted to? Her family? But he didn't know a thing about her besides her family yet he behaved like a real spoilt sheltered child by going to her father.

If Yalli is so self concious about everything. You never see the fact that she is engaged to a divorcee to be an issue to her. That is really surprising as you would expect it to really bother her.

I really like her sister Tova. She has a hear on her shoulders and is really mature.

There's no reason for him not to be sheltered. He probably didn't have to be too independent during his short marriage and then moved into - was it the dorm? Home?
And there was something about Yalli having to think about marrying a divorcee.

But thats not realistic. Someone who is divorced doesn't just jump back into typical single life. They are different because of their experiences. Tzvi doesn't seems to be too cautious about Yalli. And his whole dating experience made it seem like it was his first time. Yes Yalli does touch the subject once but she who cares about every small detail doesn't look at it like a blemish. Personally I Think the whole story would be more realistic if Tzvi wasn't divorced. I Was discussing the story recently with someone and she even forgot that detail as it never really mentions it. I Wonder why it was important to make him divorced. IT would have been better had he been an older single whose parents were always putting him up with these rich girls and he was fed up.

I'm confused about that glass murano set that Henny bought - what IS that about???

I think being engaged to a Kirsch has overshadowed that fact that he's been divorced for Yalli. And I think Tzvi had been divorced for a while and was attracted to the idea of a girl from a rosh kollel's familly rather than a typical wealthy family - that doesn't sound unrealistic. Then they just hit off together. Although with Yalli being so insecure about everything, you have to wonder what it was that she opened up to Tzvi and let him see!

I remember reading that Tzvi was sick of being set up with wealthy people. He was davka looking for someone from a family like Yalli's.

I am starting to wonder where this is going, because the two of them are not seeing the same reality. At some point, after their marriage, presumably, this will have to become a major issue.

and yes the characters seems so real, and I don't want either of them to get hurt. Laughing Yalli needs major help in getting over her painful childhood, and in needing to know how to love herself so she can love someone else, and so she can build a family.

I guess I answered my own question. That's how I see this serial going, and it doesn't look pretty!

Yup. Hope Riva's having fun at least because we're just on the edge of our seats, reading between shuttered fingers Wink

So cute!

Rarely have I read a serial where I will reread a chapter 2 or 3 times over the week -- but I have been doing that with Diamond Dust, it's that good. I'm looking forward to buying the book!
