I am making the dessert for a "potluck" purim seuda. Last year I made ice cream layer cake- which was a real hit. But when the organizer called this year she told me "please dont patche- dessert is more for the kids so do something simple." truth is I dont think last years dessert was such a patche- but she doesnt want me to have to impress.
So... what is an easy(ish) kid friendly dessert that adults would also like to eat? I found a recipe for cookies n cream cake (white cake with crumbled sandwich cookies inside).
never made it but sounds good. anyone have any good ideas? I want it to be made in a 9x13 (2 of them)
TIA

Or the oreo cookie ice cream pie. Just pie crust, rich's whip (unwhipped) and crumbled up cookies and freeze. Exact directions have been posted here many times. _________________ Want to lose weight fast? Want to keep it off easily?

If you want to be really kids friendly, bubble gum ice cream...really simple...or rainbow cupcakes.
both recipes are in Fresh and Easy!

| Also jello with canned fruit (pineapple) is simple and good. To make it fancy, put it in a trifle bowl and layer it with different colored jello with different fruit, letting each layer gel first (lemon jello with pineapple, orange jello with mandarin oranges, lime jello with sliced kiwi for example.) Even many adults like it.

I have made jello whip.
Whip a whip and add jello with the correct amount of hot water.
Mix and refrigerate.
If you want to make it shticky you could put it in a mold! Yum.

this is pretty, and yum and easy... not sure if it's the most kid friendly, but kids def like it
Trifle
2 9x 13 Chocolate cake (you can make dunken hienz- tastes really good in this, or any basic recipe)
whip cream
strawberries
Bake the cake. When cool, layer IN A GLASS TRIFLE BOWL, cake (chunks of it), whip cream, strawberries... do a few layers- strawberries should end up on top- it is really yum.
You can also add a layer of chocolate chip cookies (like the big chewy ones from the bakery)- crumble and add as a thin layer after the chocolate cake

| Cupcakes are kid friendly. It's a basic dessert like your hostess requested, but there's still room for creativity. You can color the frosting and/or decorate with sprinkles, or any way you want. You can make them mini if you think they won't eat so much.
