Bat mitzvah gifts?

My 11 year old daughter has been invited to her first bat mitzvah. We currently live OOT but the bat mitzvah is for her best friend from when were living in the 5T.

What is an appropriate gift, preferably under $35? I want her to feel she is giving something 'with it.' (I.e. not that we are now out of touch with the NY crowd, which, truth be told, we are).

And, where can I get her a black or hot pink l/s shell (shiny kind) before next weekend?

Gift Ideas:

Jewelry: Necklaces, Bracelet, Earrings, Watch. If you can get something with the girl's name (In English or Hebrew) that's nice. There is a place called Things Remembered that will personalize gifts. There is also a store called "Charming Charlie"...my girls love it. Very reasonable. If you aren't sure what to get a gift certificate would work fine.
