| Do you boil in pot of tomato sauce or put in pan and pour sauce over?

My mom always cooked them on top of the stove, so I do, too.
Now I know what I wish I had for dinner tonight!

I pour the sauce and bake the stuffed peppers in the oven.
I boil stuffed cabbage because cabbages take longer to cook (better done with more liquid) and there's no risk of the filling coming out as it's completely sealed

| I used to do it on top of the stove, now I do it in the oven. I can keep the cabbage in a neat layer and it looks so much better.

| I make stuffed peppers on the stove. It cooks faster and in Israel gas is cheaper then electricity, so it saves money. I use a big pot so I can put all the peppers in one layer.

when you put it in the oven, you don't cook the rice or meat first?
How long should it stay in and at what temp?
Thanks

| Stuffed cabbage on stove and stuffed peppers in the oven. That's just the way I do it and I've never tried any other way...

| I bake stuffed peppers in the oven. I put a mixture of raw rice, meat and spices into halved peppers (one layer). Then pour sauce over it to cover it all (I use a 29 oz can of sauce for a 9x13 pan). Bake tightly covered about 2 hrs for soft peppers.

Pour over and bake. I pre-cook the rice or other grain for the filling.
Tangent: the easy way to prep cabbage leaves without boiling - freeze a head of cabbage, then defrost. The leaves will be nice and soft, ready to stuff.
