At a kiddush, my husband was very fortunate to get a cup of grape juice down the back of his tallis. I gave it in to dryclean and the stain did not come out! Does anyone have any ideas of what could get this stain out of wool?
thanks

| You might try soaking it, but what if the cleaners used heat on it when they pressed it? It might be a lost cause.

I agree that the cleaners might have ruined it, because often with grape juice you get it partially out but a permanent residue remains.
you can try this.
I don't know about grape juice, but my husband is a car mechanic and his woolen tzizis were black from the car grease. his grandfather told me to soak and hand wash them in a powder called Biz. I did it and it got them really clean!!
for a tallis if the stain is not over most of the tallis, then I would make a watery sullotion in a basin and dip a scrubby in then scrub at the spot. or you can splash some on the spot and then scrub. as I said it might not work,
WARNING WET WOOL SMELLS REALLY BAD!!, once it dries its fine.
