Ds is over 3 and has a history of croup/bronchitis, etc. It turned into asthmatic (not severe, BH).Our ped put him on Pulmicort 6 months ago ( once a day). I've started noticing changes in his behavior, like extreme activity, tantruming, "hard-to-deal with" type of things. I realize that some of it is age-related, but still a bit unusual for him temperament. DH mentioned to me last night that it could be steroid. I went online and did some research. Apparently, such side effects do exist.
I am looking for more info from fellow amothers.

Thanks.

B"H we never had side effects from pulmicort. I am surprised that it could have side effects like that considering how little (if any) of it is systematically absorbed.

I can see kids having more energy and making more trouble on it, because they are feeling better, though.

Pulmicort, arbuteral and flowvent can cause hyperness... but I take hyperness and breathing over not breathing.

I noticed those same behaviors in my son when he took pulmicort. I spoke to the doc. and he advised me to take him off daily and only give it at the first sign of a cough/cold/etc. to prevent it from becoming ashma.
