Hi all,
I'm pregnant and looking for a double stroller! My baby will be 20 months iy"h when the new baby is born. I want a stroller that could accommodate a bassinet (as well as forward/rear facing seats), and I like that both of these strollers can be a single if you're running out with just one kid. I'm guessing the bugaboo maneuvers a little (?) better, but it's also twice the price.
How's the sunshade on the strollers? Storage space? Weight?
Any advice appreciated!
Thanks!

I have the donkey and love it. It maneuvers very well and has great storage space. The basket looks smallish, but it fits a lot in my experience. The weight is decent and the sunshade seems great. I obviously didn't use it in the summer yet so I can't say how great it is against strong sun.
I tried the city select before I had this and hated it. I hate the pushing and it's a bit wider than the donkey and didn't fit through my door.

I guess so because I had to literally PUSH it through my door and the donkey can fit right through.

The donkey is awesome. Both of those strollers are big and not great for in and out of the car... the the donkey is easier I find to "take down" than the select. The maneuverability is amazing...and if you are in a place with lots of snow it is definitely better than the select. Thought at twice the price you have to decide if its worth it. I do think that it's ridiculous for a stroller....but I get a lot of snow and walk a lot so for me its worth it. The select is a very good stroller too, I just found for "one handed pushing" the donkey was so easy...and I always seem to have my hands full! My only complaint with the donkey is I wish it had a little more storage room down below. I've included the dimensions of both stollers (gotten off a website, so I hope they are accurate). The donkey is thinner than the select in mono mode, but about 3.25 inches wider in duo mode. Both should fit through normal doorways.
city select:
Open Length: 43"
Open Width: 25.75"
Open Height: 41.5"
donkey
length: 34.3"
width (in mono mode): 23.6"
Width Duo/Twin : 29"

the bugaboo donkey is SO easy to push- the fold is very bulky, so if you're the type to go in and out of cars a lot it will NOT be practical.
I don't have one yet, as I am due in about a month, but am strongly considering buying one. The main way I plan to use a double is to keep it open all the time and walk miles with it. This will IYH be my third baby and I have had other double strollers and was very unhappy with how they pushed. The smoothness of a donkey- even when loaded with 2 bigger kids is incredible- I put my 5 yr old and 2 yr old in it and went around the block with a friend's and was amazed.
The price is nauseating- even for stroller junkies like me. So, my plan is to sell the Uppababy that I have (AND LOVE!) with the rumble seat for $375, and continue taking extra tutoring jobs this month to make up the price, I think I'll be pretty close. I'm too embarrassed to even approach purchasing this to my husband (who would probably be fine buying it, but much happier if I figure out a way to get it through my own devices).
