New and Upcoming Threads You Will Not Want To Miss

A very nice thread on the intellectual forum entitled Teach Me to Complain the Right Way.

This amother author specifies issues she complains about and there are meaningful and doable responses.

I like this thread b/c the subject is real and well presented.

I think you will like it too.

I recommend 2 threads.

The 1st thread: "Who is your role model and why?" Nice topic, applicable to all, and enjoyable to read.
In the relationship forum. Written by ABC

The 2ND thread:"For all those who say kibud av ve aim - read this then judge" Written by amother. Extremely long thread of mentally ill mother who terrorizes/abuses her family. The emotional/physical abuse portrayed is quite stark and graphic.

How can you recommend 'upcoming' threads? Very Happy

Is there some secret place where amothers write, edit and submit posts to 'first readers' before letting them out for the whole wide world to see? Wink

"New and upcoming" is an expression. It refers to something new (like a movie or a thread) with good reviews that is bound to be very popular.

I think manyhats may be tongue-in-cheek. If she is I have another suggestion: threads that don't upset, humiliate, insult or offend and that don't involve recipes.

# of posts - ZERO.

if she isn't, I think sooner or later every thread will cause trouble. Even recipes (what if someone gets food poisoning? It's the poster's fault!) But go for it! knock yourselves out looking for complete niceness and pareveness in threads.

I am starting a one woman campaign to promote worthy threads. Criteria include, but are not limited to, being well written, of interest to the general imamother population, worthy subject, open to discussion, etc.

I am open to additional suggestion.

Manyhats, with all due respect, I think these things sometimes just happen and it is hard to predict how explosive a topic will end up being. Many times it is not even the original post that sparks the interest, but an interesting turn that the thread takes- many times not even in the direction that the OP had intended.

You just gotta watch and be amazed... Smile

My goal is to highlight which threads, in my opinion, deserve our attention.

Also, I invite others to offer their suggestions.

Indeed you are correct. The correct term is as you say it: "up-and-coming"

I think this (that is, highlighting posts one think are valuable)is inherent with the system.
Threads that person A thinks look interesting and are found to be interesting, will be frequented by and commented on by person A. Same for person B.

Everyone's opinion is bound to be different about what "she"thinks is important, interesting or worthy of comment.

I think you are coming across as someone who is in need of a lot of attention .
It is a bit annoying but at least you are trying to go about it in a more positive way. FMPOV you come across as trying too hard to be noticed here (just some small honest criticism). Why not just let things flow and happen naturally Smile

A previously mentioned thread has 2 particularly outstanding responses. I refer to the thread by ABC in the Relationship forum entitled "Who is your role model?". The 4Th and 5th response are quite good.

No one is forced to read/reply my posts. I believe I am providing a service.

You posted under amother, why?

The first few responses are the typical hugs and such but later on real doable advice is given. The "book" advice resonates with me. A # of posters indicated they have the same problem.

I care (too much) about this site.

I see a lot of things wrong with it. This includes but is not limited to:

Pages and pages of responses with multiple posts with the same content.
Infighting galore.
Posts that veer way off topic.
Posts which seem to be made up.
Posts with a title that doesn't match the content.

My goal? To identify threads that are worthy of your attention. They are well written ,,specific, dealing with a universal issue.

This thread invites others to chime in and recommend additional threads.

My one request ? Please be civil.
