I am wondering. I am a US citizen and I don't live in america. I have a child which I have to register as a birth abroad. I have not filed taxes in usa since I moved to where I am now. I am wondering if anyone has gotten money or something from the gov of usa and did you file taxes anyway and has that helped with getting $$$ for a child as a dependant. what should I do. thank you. posted anonymously beacuse I don't want to be known(answering you before you ask those who do)

In Israel, there are people that can help you with that.
Otherwise, you can get certain benefits, but it depends how much you earn. You can start filing taxes now. They accept up to four years retroactively, I think.

could you please explain what you mean more in detail about filing taxes.
My husband is a US citizen and our kids have dual citizenship, and he has never done anything of the sort.
what benefits? I'm confused.
