Dell printer making all the right sounds, page is blank

Everything is working perfectly, and no unusual error messages, but page exits printer blank, one after the other. Its not on warranty any more.

I tried unplugging.

Is this an ink jet printer or a laser? If ink jet, probably the ink heads are clogged. There should be a head cleaning utility available if you go to Control Panel, Devices & Printer, then right click the printer and check the printing options -- look for a maintenance tab and then a head cleaning utility.

If it's a laser -- is it possible the cartridge is empty?

I ran maintenance on the printer- I cleaned the printhead and thought it solved the problem because the test page printed beautifully, but it still doesnt print what I need printed (anything but the test page).

Have you turned the printer off and on again and rebooted the computer? Its worth trying both of those. Also have you googled the problem?
