Hebrew Birthday, anything to do special on that day?

I always hear after my birthday oh what a time to daven/give brachos/get brachos...
Is there any specialness to that day that I should specifically say more tehillim/daven more?

There definatly is significance to the day. there are minhagim to say the whole tehillim on this day, to learn extra, give extra tzedoka just to mention afew..

I give my mother flowers, give zedoko, go to kivrei zaddikim to daven for my family and for others and do a cheshbon nefesh each year.

I always wondered why ppl do that? What is the significance of the bday in Jewish life? How do you even do a cheshbon hanefesh, that is really admirable~!

Say Kapitel Bais in Tehillim and you can ask for whatever you want.
