How would you daven for this baby?

A friend of mine just had a baby and he is in the nicu. They are traditional, but not frum, and they already gave the baby an English name (obviously before the bris). The English name happens to be a very Jewish name, but still, he was not given a Jewish name at a bris yet.
So when davening for him, would I call him tinok b-n (my friends name)?

Whilst it is traditional to give a name at the brit mila, halachically they may be named separately, especially in cases when the baby is very early or may not live. I think you should check for sure that he hasn't been officially named to start with.

As for the rest I don't know, I've never been in that situation myself but I think it would be tinok.
