depends what kind of cake,
not one that had to have eggs beaten up and fluffy or margarine and sugar creamed
a standard one bowl, mix everything together cake should be fine
you will probably need to mix it again tomorrow as some things might separate

| I've done it plenty of times for a basic cake batter. Just cover it well and mix it tomorrow.

| It might not be the best cake you've ever baked, but how bad could a cake be?

just make sure to give it a quick mix with a spoon or fork to mix up any parts that may have separated and bake.
I agree with paprika, it may not be the best but it will be a cake! _________________

| I do it all the time for standard one-bowl 'mix everything together' types of cakes. I will make the batter at night, not want to stay up till the cake bakes and then cools, so I put the batter in the fridge. The next day I let it return to room temp, stir slightly and bake as usual. Good every time.
