Oh my. OP, this is no doubt the most trying time of your lives. Be strong, take care of yourself, there WILL be better days with Hashem's help!! I'm not here to give you platitudes, my family and I went through very hard times in recent months. Hashem gives you strength and when you think you have no more, He gives you more. Stay strong. We have your daughter and DH in our thoughts, tefillos, and have onlybright hopes for their future.

May Hashem take care of all of you, sending complete and wonderful healing and recovery for both Kayla Rus bas Chaya Rochel and Binum Binyamin Tuvia ben Chana Freidel bekarov, and may you only have good news to hear and share in the coming days, months and years b'ezras Hashem Yisborach!

(Please know that I've recently heard of several people with minor strokes that lost their symptoms with time and only minimal therapy. It usually sounds worse than it actually is, may that be so regarding your DH. )

I can't even begin to think what you all must be going through. May Hashem send His salvation as soon as possible and your lovely dd should have a speedy and complete recovery. My thoughts are with you.

I keep reading all the posts about your daughter, may she have a refuah sheleimah quickly. Although we may be strangers, I feel so much connected. And the reason for this is that I myself am a cancer survivor. I feel for your daughter and for you too. It's hard but it seems you both are handling it amazingly, just as Hashem wants. I did see your post that it's too late to start with Bonei Olam for fertility because she had numberous chemotherapy treatments.
I have great news for you: It's NOT too late. It's amazing how top oncologists do not know much about preserving fertility. Perhaps because their main concern is preserving the patient's life and fertility is not their in their minds at all. But for us it is!!! It sure is!!!
And here comes in my personal story. I myself only contacted Bonei Olam, or rather I should write that my parents' contacted Bonei Olam, but it was only after I was on treatments for six months. And there was so much they were able to do still. We did ask around a lot; both to oncologists and gynecologists and they both thought they knew that there's nothing to do now, but they were wrong.
When I saw your post, I knew I had to tell you to PLEASE call Bonei Olam. It definitely can't hurt. In the worst case scenario you will know that you tried and did your best at least. I'm not sure why I'm pleading for you to call. Of course you will! I guess it's just that I feel so connected to your daughter. And to you. Feel free to respond with ANY questions. Hashem should be with you, guide you, and may you continue feeling His hand holding yours.... for it always is.

I just wanted to post this update on Kayla Rus bas Chaya Rochel, since I haven't been on the site in quite a while. She has had 7 rounds of chemo, and they repeated scans (CT, PET, MRI) after the 6th round. There has been a good response to the chemo so far, but the bad news is, it is borderline on whether they can operate yet, and there is only so long before the body starts becoming resistant to the chemo & it stops working. The other bad news we received, after having contacted Bonei Olam and the NYU fertility specialist they recommended, is that her only possible viable ovary is completely surrounded by the tumor and it is impossible at this time to extract eggs. The doctors are not hopeful at all that this will change. Our only, and last, hope for a miracle is that when they do go in and remove the tumor, that they can salvage some viable ovarian tissue inside the tumor for preservation, and this is very iffy. So please keep up the davening. This has completely devastated our family. I know Hashem has something in mind, but I'm afraid what.

Thank you... my name is Chaya Rochel bas Shulamis. I can use all the help I can get!
My husband is Binum Binyamin Tuvia ben Chana Freidel, he is also recovering from a brain bleed suffered during Chanukah and has not fully regained his vision or ability to process the written word.

I'm daavening for you all. As a parent of a child who survived cancer I can relate to what you're going through.
There were days when I needed all my strength to put one foot in front of the other. I felt totally removed from the mundane & completely alone .
B"H the clouds have lifted & we can now see the sun.
This too shall pass.
I give you a Brocha that your daughter should have a complete refua Shleima & that you can save her ovary/tissue and that you all have the koach to see it through .

I'm glad this got bumped up today. I have had your daughter's name on my tehillim list since you first posted in November but I'm embarrassed to say that the list is so long that I forgot who Kayla Rus was! I've been davening for her regularly, but seeing her beautiful picture brings her more into focus and makes it all more REAL, if you know what I mean. I'm so sorry to hear about your husband and will bl"n include him in my tefilos as well.
Regarding marriage, fertility etc. - I just wanted to mention that I have a very close friend whose son is a cancer survivor. Thanks to his illness he met his bashert through Machon Puah. She is also a survivor and they are soul mates. They are currently working on the fertility issue and will hopefully succeed with Hashem's help.
May your entire family have a refuah shlema bekarov and know only simchas.

I have been davening for all of you. Hashem should give you the koach to get through this incredibly hard time and send a refuah shleimah bekarov to Kayla and your husband.
