It IS a huge event so there is no denying some circus element to it. But overall, it is very well-run organisation. Because technically anyone (well almost) can present, it is a mixed bag. The most important part is to know which lectures are good. DH and I think it's too good of a venue/opportunity to be reserved only for non-Orthodox views. I've personally noticed there are more orthodox speakers in recent years, reckon probably less stigmatisation from US authority. (And I'll be presenting my own session this year for the first time!!)

I have a couple of friends who attend or present something for Limud. I never attended.
